Welcome to Howard Family Roots! Our overall goal is to trace our ancestry back to colonial times and share information with others who have a common interest. In this way our family heritage will survive for future generations.
Our genealogy site focuses on the ancestors of first cousins John Stephen Howard and Phyllis Jean (Howard) Heidel. Our paternal grandparents are Stephen Jefferson Howard and Ida May Bratton, who had three children: Harold (John's father), Norman (Phyllis' father), and Ralph (no children). Harold married Anna Elwell, the daughter of John Elwell and Mearl Ball. Norman married Mary Daulton, daughter of William Daulton and Stella McMahan.
